The AOCOO-HNS Quarterly Newsletter is published quarterly by the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, 4764 Fishburg Road, Suite F, Huber Heights, OH 45424, (937) 233-5653 or (800) 455-9404, FAX (937) 233-5673, and serves as a communication link with the Membership. The Colleges would like to encourage members to submit articles of personal and professional interest.

The AOCOO-HNS Program Director's Monthly Newsletter is published and updated primarily by the Council of Medical Education (C.O.M.E.) and the AOCOO-HNS Administration.  The purpose of this Newsletter is to assist Program Directors so that they may stay up-to-date on the latest news, policies and changes from the AOA and AOCOO-HNS Council of Medical Education.

2013 Strategic Plan

Purpose: Ensure the survivability of the College and the Foundation in the face of increasing challenges, and promote the organizations' accomplishments within the AOA.

Goal 1: Promote among current and prospective College members an appreciation for the value of the College and a spirit of "giving back".

Objectives:

Increase the percentage of practitioners who are members of the College, especially senior residents and young practitioners.
Increase member understanding of current and future changes that impact their practices (e.g., laws, regulations, Osteopathic Continuing Certification, etc.).
Improve compliance with the College's application process for Fellowship status.

Goal 2: Provide meaningful and productive ways for members to participate in College activities.

Objectives:

Review/revise the structure and function of College committees, and the process to review their work.
Define specific outcomes for all College committees.
Increase the participation of young members in College committees and activities.

Goal 3: Develop mutually beneficial relationships with residency directors, faculty and residents.

Objectives:

Improve relationships between College leadership and Program Directors to strengthen residency programs.
Increase the visibility of Faculty and resident research papers and other accomplishments.
Recognize Program Director and Faculty service to the College.
Increase communication with all current residents to emphasize the benefits of College membership, specifically future OCC requirements for practice.

The AOCOO-HNS is pleased with the new, redesigned website.

This product is the result of input from our Membership, Committees, Councils, Board Members and Administrative Staff. The launching of the new site brings to fruition the synchronized hard work in analyzing and designing this new concept.

The AOCOO-HNS' goal is to provide our organization with an attractive interactive experience, as well as improved and intuitive navigation. The AOCOO-HNS continually strives to add more information to update its Membership with the latest College activities.
